What's New in Q1 2012

The paragraphs below provide a quick overview of what has been introduced with the first 2012 release of the Kendo UI framework

Kendo UI Web

Released on March 22nd, 2012

The Q1 2012 marks the introduction of a complete MVVM framework extension as part of the Kendo UI framework. It also features two new major widgets:

» HTML Editor
» ListView

as well as a bunch of important grid features: support for various edit forms, custom editors and built-in aggregates displayed in footers or group headers.

Kendo UI Mobile

Released on March 22nd, 2012

The Q1 2012 release highlights are:

» OS, Android, and BlackBerry platform support
» Complete Mobile framework and platform-specific layouts
» A set of 8 UI widgets, including buttons, scrollers, navigation, and more
» Data attributes for events, templates and data source
» Support for multi-size application icons (iOS and Android)
» Mobile Views MVVM integration via data-model option

Kendo UI DataViz

Released on March 22nd, 2012

In Q1 2012 we've added:

» Radial and Linear Gauges
» Area/Stacked Area chart

and a wealth of features across all charts.
To name a few: multiple value axes, binding to grouped data source, mirror option for controlling the axis labels position, making the SVG and VML renderers pluggable, etc.

What's Coming Next

See what's cooking for you for the next major release (Q2 2012) of Kendo UI.

Kendo UI Web

The Q2 release will feature the introduction of our first set of server wrappers with Kendo UI for ASP.NET MVC. We'll also be delivering a combined DateTime picker widget, column reordering and resizing on the Grid and support for hierarchical and relational data in the DataSource.

Kendo UI DataViz

The Q2 release will feature the introduction of our first set of server wrappers with Kendo UI for ASP.NET MVC. We'll also add new Donut (or torus) and Bubble chart types as well as date axis support and some additional arrow types for the Radial Gauge.

Kendo UI Mobile

The major focus for Mobile in Q2 will be delivering a complete set of controls for creating rich iPad UI, including Popover and Split View controls, as well as Action Sheet and Modal View widgets. We'll also be adding some additional features to the ListView like "Press to Load more" support and endless scrolling.
