Hi,

I know it's not directly related to ThemeBuilder, but maybe closest area to ask?

I love the UI Kits for Figma, but want to export them all to Axure and make hi fidelity prototypes with Kendo controls.

Did anyone try this?

When I just use the Axure plugin for Figma, it exports/copies the frames without styles.

Thnx!

Hello Sanja Tolo,

Thank you for your interest in ThemeBuilder and your question regarding compatibility between the Figma Kendo UI Kits and Axure.

I want to clarify that we are not directly affiliated with the Axure team or Figma and have not tested the approach I am about to describe. However, based on available information, you should be able to import Figma designs into Axure by following the steps outlined in this blog post: https://www.axure.com/blog/import-figma-designs-into-axure.

It's important to note that the Kendo UI Kits in Figma are built using the Atomic design principle, where complex components are constructed by reusing basic ones. All applied styles are exposed, and the components are fully customizable within Figma. However, this also means that each element within the UI Kit reuses the Kendo styling, which can have a complex structure based on Kendo variables.

With the above in mind, it is possible that the automated import process into Axure may not be able to handle the complex styling of the Kendo UI Kit. You may need to manually inspect and modify each UI element within Axure (possibly through the Axure Cloud inspect https://docs.axure.com/axure-cloud/reference/inspect/). This approach should be manageable if you only have a few specific components to work with. However, if you intend to bulk import an entire Kendo UI Kit design, it could require significant manual work.

Please keep in mind that the success and feasibility of this approach will depend on your project's specific requirements and complexity. I recommend exploring the provided blog post and assessing if it aligns with your needs. If you encounter any challenges or need further assistance, I suggest contacting the Axure support team for guidance.

I hope this information helps you make an informed decision. If you have any additional questions or require further clarification, please feel free to ask.

Hi NIck,

Thnx for your help.

I understood this from the start, but it wasn't my question. Unfortunately this will not be good enough for us, so for the time being we will do all our prototypes with Figma only (which has actually recently got better at this), so we should be good.

Thank you again!

Sanja
